I am excited... more than excited. In fact I am over the moon because this June I will be doing my first Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Rapperswil-Jona!!! What IS an Ironman? I hear you ask... well, a full Ironman is a glorious journey covering a 4k swim, a 180k bike ride and finishes with a 42k marathon. This June I will be doing an Ironman 70.3 which is half of that distance (70.3 stands for the distance it covers in miles) so will be joyfully swimming 2k in the beautful Lake Zurich, ecstatically biking 90k and smiling all the way through to the finish line at the end of a 20k run through the medieval parts of the old town = epic!!! In the coming 2 months leading up to the event, I will be sharing my training, pre- and post- workout fuel, what I use to power my workouts (instead of artificial energy gels and sugar-loaded bars), the beautiful places I train in along with everything else that entails training for this sort of adventure! I hope you will be able to get something out of my Ironman and triathlon chronicles as a raw, Plant-Powered athlete and if YOU have any triathlon adventures, tips or comments to share I would love to hear them - please comment!
