Going in to COOP to get some water, I was surprised to find a new and fairly extensive display of vegan and raw food products! A few years behind the UK, but funny to see Switzerland catching up now with the raw health food scene!
And then on the other extreme of the spectrum of healthy food, one of my jobs today was to pick up a crate of fresh sweet bread, and a bulk pack of milk chocolate bars to then deliver to a nursery full of little 2-4 year olds - it saddens me to see what we are feeding children from such a young age - low quality refined sugar and starch... and then we expect them to behave!? And especially at those ages where they are developing so fast, good nutrition at that age could help offset the risk for type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome... or it can acerbate it. Not to mention the education that goes around food choices, where it comes from, and the impact of the environment. But I'm also hopeful that there are many great initiatives now that tackle this, and school gardens are popping up everywhere, which is great! |
But by 5pm, I could really feel fatigue hitting in. I also only had 1L of raw milk with me. One last delivery came last minute, and I finished that one and was quite happy to put away my bike and call it a day. Got the bus back, and thankfully I had all my gym stuff in my bag because I know if I had to go home to pick it up, I would have stayed! I ended up finding some hidden energy reserves and did a good just under 1 hour session.
So in total drank 1.5L of raw milk today (all I have left!), and also a few bites of raw butter with a little raw honey to get me through! :P Note to self: must make sure I have enough raw milk around!!
